DeRosa & Shelly IVF

INFERTILITY SERVICES

Dr. De Rosa has partnered with the world renowned Infertility Center of St. Louis and Dr. Sherman Silber. This has enabled us to offer our patients continuity of care and the full spectrum of infertility services. Realizing that no two couples are alike, we are able to tailor treatments based on history, physical exam, and evaluation. These may range from simple office procedures to advanced reproductive technologies such as IVF.

EVALUATION, DIAGNOSIS & TREATMENT

EVALULATION OF WOMENS FERTILITY POTENTIAL (OVARIAN RESERVE)

Antral Follicle Counts/day 3 FSH can help determine your fertility potential. This is a simple ultrasound evaluation measuring the number of small cysts ( < 1cm ) in your ovaries. Treatment can then be offered based on these findings.

EVALUATION OF THE FALLOPIAN TUBES

Women with tubal disease have not only a decrease in fertility, but also and increased risk of miscarraige and tubal pregnancy. By evaluating your tubes with a simple procedure we can determine the status of your tubes. Depending on this result, surgical intervention and/or IVF may be suggested.

EVALUATION OF THE UTERUS AND UTERINE CAVITY

By employing on of several simple techniques (sonohysteroscopy/hysterosalpingogram/3D ultrasound/ hysteroscopy) we can accurately assess the uterine cavity and if necessary correct the abnormality.

EVALUATION OF MALE FACTOR INFERTILITY

Greater than 40 % of infertility can be attributed to abnormalities of sperm production (number of sperm, sperm mobility, sperm morphology). A simple semen analysis is all that is required to assess male fertility. Very low or absent sperm counts will require IVF and sometimes a simple outpatient procedure on the male to achieve pregnancy.

EVALUATION OF OVULATORY DYSFUNCTION

Some women with PCOS or Hypothalamic hypopituitarism may not ovulate. These patients need a comprehensive evaluation of their hormones and may require ovulation induction strategies such as clomid, letrozole, and possibly even gonadotopins (shots).

EVALUATION OF RECURRENT PREGNANCY LOSS

OVULATION INDUCTION

NATURAL CYCLE EVALUATION: By monitoring a patients cycle with ultrasound, we can determine if and when a patient is ovulating. Based on these findings additional treatment may be necessary.
